Our Helpers are at the forefront of delivering the memorable experience that makes Hamleys so special to our visitors. With skills in customer service, demonstration and merchandising, Hamleys Helpers bring the magic of Hamleys to life! Our Helpers offer a significant and memorable service to all customers at all times.
To be considered for this role you will have natural passion for customer service, plenty of enthusiasm and a love for our products.
Supporting the management team, our Experts ensure the smooth running of operational functions including stock management, till operations and opening and closing. They work closely with Supervisor and Team leaders in overseeing the shop floor and helping to manage service Standards. They also play an important role in inducting new Helpers to the business, working as a buddy to coach and train new staff joining us.
These roles are usually progressed internally from Hamleys Helpers.
Bringing products to life, our team of Demonstrators engage with our customers, allowing them to join in the fun! The Demonstrators learn to master all of the functions and tricks of each product and give visitors the opportunity to see the toys in action. With enthusiasm and a genuine passion for the toys they work with, our Demonstrators are dedicated to giving our customers an enjoyable visit, and help make their shopping experience something to remember.
To be considered for this role you will be confident, target driven, a great communicator and have a natural ability to entertain customers with your demonstrations.
Store Entertainers / Party Assistants
We pride ourselves on offering unique Hamleys parties and events to all our customers on a daily basis. We have dedicated Events teams in our larger stores and we provide a range of in store entertainment including character visits, puppet shows, story time, workshops, guided tours, birthday parties and much more! Through their performances, our Entertainers help to give visitors of all ages magic memories to keep long after they have left the store.
To be considered for this role you will have previous experience performing and ideally working with and entertaining children. You will have strong customer service and communication skills and high levels of enthusiasm and energy.
Supervisors / Team Leaders
Our supervisors (or Team Leaders in some locations) are the first level of management within our stores. Responsible for managing Helpers and Experts, Hamleys Supervisors work closely with the management team; driving sales and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Supervisors will also focus on developing and motivating the team whilst ensuring we are delivering the expectations of our customers.
To be considered for this role you will have had experience in leading and motivating a team, maintaining a shop floor and promoting good levels of customer service.
Working in partnership with the Floor/ Store Manager, our Assistant Managers have a passion for meeting sales and operational targets, ensuring Company service standards are met by all members of the team. Deputising for the Floor/ Store Manager during their absence, Assistant Managers are responsible for supporting the ongoing development of the members of the team and their department, using initiative to identify areas of improvement and progression, and supporting the implementation of company strategy.
To be considered for this role you will have had previous experience in a similar role and be used to managing and developing teams, working towards KPIs and sales targets. You will have supported a manager in the overall performance of a similar environment.
Floor / Store Managers
Responsible for the overall smooth running of their store/department, our Floor/Store Managers work closely with senior management to ensure Company objectives are met, and communicating strategic goals to all members of their team. Responsible for the development of all the members of their team, our Floor/Store Managers coach, train and support the team to achieve their personal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance objectives.
Working closely with the other managers, the Floor/Store manager is accountable for the performance of their location (in both sales and operations) and should affectively use the tools at their disposal to maximise the potential of their department. Floor Managers are inspirational, passionate about delivering Company expectations, and enjoy leading a team to a winning performance.
To be considered for this role you will have worked in a similar fast paced environment with overall accountability of its performance. You will have a track record in setting and achieving sales targets and KPIs, controlling budgets, managing your teams performance and encouraging development.
